Description
Mind mapping software is used to create a visual depiction of relationships between ideas or other pieces of information. It is also known as brainstorming. Shapes, colours, lines, arrows and images can be used to organize ideas.

- may be used to transform visual outline to a linear text outline using different "views"

Teachers may want to use the built in templates for scaffolding or create their own templates for different types of exercises (ie writing assignments, note taking, brainstorming, oral presentations, etc. Additional tools for spellchecking, vocabulary and note taking are included. Inspiration is a full featured software product, while Kidspiration provides a simplified interface, suitable for K-5 students with a focus on literacy and numeracy.
