Program: PhD in Developmental Psychology and Education Research: My research interests are in two areas. A first area of interest involves the literacy development of monolingual Chinese children. I investigate the underlying cognitive factors that predict Chinese character reading skills and the relationships among these factors. A second area of interest concerns the effects of bilingualism on the development of phonological strategies, morphological awareness, and visual-orthographic processing skills in Chinese children in Canada, who are developing bilingual/Biliteracy skills in English and Chinese. |
