Clarisa Markel
Exploration, discovery, and caring for others have always been important to Clarisa. She became fascinated with psychological research since early in 2005, a few months after she and her young husband immigrated to Canada from Argentina, where she received a Licenciatura en Psicologia degree at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. After conducting research in social, developmental, and clinical psychology labs and having taken several psycholopgy undergraduate courses at the University of British Columbia, she joined OISE's School and Clinical Child Psychology (SCCP) program in September 2008, continuing under the supervision of Dr. Judy Wiener. In September 2009 she started her second year in the M.A. program and looks forward to expanding her research on parent-adolescent conflict and family dynamics. Clarisa has also recently become a Canadian citizen!!
Research Interests
Clarisa's research interests include parent-adolescent relationships, parental involvement in children and youth's learning, particularly in adolescents with ADHD as well as looking at these topics cross-culturally.
