Program: PhD in School of Clinical and Child Psychology

Personal Information: Sadaf Shallwani, PhD Candidate (Developmental Psychology and Education). I am interested in research, theory, and practice in a range of areas, including: early child development; children's school readiness; and human development in family, community, and wider social contexts. I am particularly interested in deconstructing and reconceptualizing mainstream notions of development and functioning. In addition to Canada, I have worked in various Majority world contexts, including Pakistan and Kenya. My doctoral research will look at the conceptualization of school readiness among teachers, parents, and children in a Pakistani context.
