Registration and Admissions FAQs

How do I register and apply for an AQ course?

Visit the AQ Online Application System (AQOAS) at https://aqoas.oise.utoronto.ca/ to apply and pay online by the application deadline.  To apply for an AQ course online you will be asked to provide an email address for AQ correspondence and a valid credit card.  If you are unable to complete the online application, you can obtain a printable version of our application formby going to the 'Forms & Handbooks' section of this site.  Applications received without the required tuition fee payment will not be accepted.

Pre-Assessment Service

OISE | Continuing and Professional Learning will conduct academic pre-assessments between October 13th and the end of February upon receipt of your written request, official university transcripts, a copy of your current Certificate of Qualification. Thus, any academic course deficiencies could be corrected in preparation for registering in the respective Honour Specialist course. Assessment of eligibility for Honour Specialist courses usually takes 6-8 weeks.

How do I check the status of my application?

If you submitted your application online...
To check your status, log on to the AQ Online Application System (AQOAS) as a Returning User at any time. You will need to remember both your Username and Password in order to log back into our system.
Assessment of your application will take approximately 3-4 weeks. OISE will contact you by email to inform you of any updates/changes in your application status.
If you submitted your application by mail or in person...
OISE will create for you, your personal Username and Password. To retrieve your Username and Password please visit the AQ Online Application System (AQOAS) at https://aqoas.oise.utoronto.ca/ and enter the email address that you provided on your application form in the box on the bottom right-hand corber of the page. (Please allow The OISE | Continuing & Professional Learning at least five (5) business days to enter your information into our AQOAS System in order to initiate your Username and Password).
Once you have retrieved your Username and Password, you will then be able to check your application status by logging in to the AQOAS at https://aqoas.oise.utoronto.ca/ as a Returning User at any time. You will need to remember both your Username and your Password in order to log back into our system. OISE will then notify you by email to inform you of any updates/change in your application status.

What if my profile status reads "pending"?

Pending - Indicates that you have submitted your application. Please note that approximately 24-48 hours after you submit your application online, your information will be transferred to the University of Toronto's central database and your status in the online application system will be automatically changed to Conditional

What if my profile status reads "conditionally accepted"?

Indicates that documentation showing the required prerequisite(s) for your course(s) may still be outstanding and final assessment of your file is in progress. The required documentation must be sent to OISE | Continuing & Professional Learning in Room 5-103 at 252 Bloor Street West, Toronto, Ontario M5S 1V6 as soon as possible. Please note that assessment of an application takes approximately 4-6 weeks from the time an application and all supporting documentation is received by OISE | Continuing & Professional Learning. Also note that missing information or documentation may delay the processing of your application and that the Additional Qualification Unit reserves the right to withdraw any candidate who submits documentation and is subsequently found to be unqualified. Admission and course requirements will not be altered or waived

What if my profile status reads "Accepted"?

This indicates that all the required documentation for the course has been submitted and the processing of your file is complete.

What if my profile status reads "Not Accepted"?

This indicates that you do not meet the admission requirements for the course(s) for which they have applied. A letter explaining the reason(s) will be sent to your mailing address.

How do I find out the course location, readings and additional information about my specific course?

Once you have confirmed your accepted status on the AQ Online Application System (AQOAS), please check the 'Course Specific Information' page for more details about your course including location, readings etc. This information is usually posted no less than 2 weeks prior to the course start date. 

 

Online Course FAQs

What is my UTORid and how do I get it?

Your UTORid is required to login and access your online course.  Login to your AQ OAS profile and click the link that says "Check your UTORid/library barcode information." This page will have information about your UTORid and how to set it up.  If you do not see that link in your AQ OAS profile, wait a few days as your UTORid information needs to be entered in.  If your course is about to begin and you still do not have your UTORid informaiton, send an email to aqutorid@utoronto.ca

 

Grades and Transcripts FAQs

How do I access my grade?

Grade reports are automatically sent by mail (to the address you included in your paper application or online on your AQOAS profile) TWO WEEKS after course completion. If you do not receive your grade report within that time, please contact our office to confirm your address and have your grade report re-sent.

How do I order an official AQ transcript?

For information on ordering an Additional Qualification transcript, please visit the AQ Transcript Office website at: http://www.oise.utoronto.ca/ro/Transcripts_Records/index.html or call the Transcript Office directly at 416-978-1684.
