Part 1 courses do not lead to a divisional entry on the Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification. See Primary, Junior/Intermediate, and Senior Basic Qualifications.
- Technological Studies teachers are eligible to take the following Three-Session Qualification courses: Integration of Information and Computer Technology in Instruction, Co-Operative Education, English as a Second Language, Guidance, Music Vocal PJ, Music Instrumental, Special Education, Visual Arts.
Prerequisites for Part 1:
1. Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers or hold an interim Certificate of Qualification. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry.
2. Evidence of the basic divison qualification in the respective Primary Division, the Junior Division or the Intermediate Division is required to take an AQ in that division area. ie: Primary Divison is required to take the 3 part Kindergarten AQ.
*Accounting part 1: Official transcript(s) showing proof of successful completion of a minimum of two full university degree credit courses or the equivalent in Business and Accounting subjects.
*Computer Studies part 1: Official transcript(s) showing proof of successful completion of a minimum of two full university degree credit courses or the equivalent in computing (including computer programming). Relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of one pre-requisite course only. Evidence of one additional unversity course will still be required.
*FSL parts 1-3: Successful completion of the French proficiency test at OISE within the last 3 years.
*Music-Instrumental part 1: Official transcript(s) showing proof of successful completion of a minimum of two full university degree credit courses or the equivalent in Instrumental Music subjects. Relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of one pre-requisite course only. Evidence of one additional unversity course will still be required.
Prerequisites for Part 2:
1. Evidence of the completion of Part 1 as shown on your Certificate of Qualification. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry.
2. Evidence of at least one (1) year of successful teaching experience certified by the appropriate Supervisory Officer or proof of at least one (1) year of successful teaching experience outside Ontario certified by the appropriate Supervisory Officer on the 'OISE Certification of Teaching Experience Form' (found in the 'Forms & Handbooks' section of this site).
*FSL parts 1-3: Successful completion of the French proficiency test at OISE within the last 3 years.

1. Evidence of the completion of Part 1 and Part 2 as shown on your Certificate of Qualification. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry.
2. Evidence of at least two (2) years of successful teaching experience, including one (1) year of experience in the subject in which the qualification is being sought. This experience must be certified by the appropriate Supervisory Officer on the 'OISE Certification of Teaching Experience Form' (found in the 'Forms & Handbooks' section of this site).
*Music (Vocal and Instrumental) part 3: In addition to prerequisites 1 and 2, a Grade 10 Certificate in performance (vocal or instrumental) from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto; OR 5 university courses in Music and at least a grade 6 certificate in performance (vocal or instrumental) from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto; OR a 3 year Bachelor of Musical Arts from the U of Western Ontario is required. Relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of one pre-requisite course only. Evidence of one additional unversity course will still be required.
