Instructing Opportunities for Additional and Principal Qualification Courses

OISE | Continuing & Professional Learning, OISE invites applications for instructors for both online and in-class sections of Additional Qualifications courses.

Application review and screening takes place twice a year. Only those candidates to be interviewed will be contacted.

Spring / Summer session applications will be accepted beginning January to the end of February.

Fall / Winter session applications will be accepted begining July to the end of August.

OISE | Continuing & Professional Learning, OISE offers courses in a wide variety of disciplines, both in-class and online. We are looking for dynamic educators who would like to instruct with us in our Spring (April May), Summer (July), Fall (September through December) or Winter (January through April) sessions. Please note that the Principal's Qualification courses may run at different times of the year. All positions are for one session and are subject to renewal.

Criteria for Submission

A covering letter indicating the area in which you are interested in teaching.
A brief resume using the template provided. Download template.

Criteria for Selection: Instructors of Additional Qualifications

5 years experience as a teacher in the province of Ontario
Member of the Ontario College of Teachers or equivalent
Master of Education or Specialist Qualification within subject discipline
Recent and relevant teaching experience
Demonstrated experience with computers as a professional tool
Demonstrated expertise related to subject content and exemplary teaching and assessing strategies
School- or system-based leadership experience
Curriculum development experience
Understanding of current research and best practices within the field
Attend mandatory in-service sessions planned by the AQ department
A commitment to OISE's inservice program

NOTE: As part of the terms of employment, all OISE AQ instructors cannot teach for another AQ provider during the same session that they are an OISE employee .

Criteria for Selection: Instructors of Principal Qualifications

Minimum 3 years experience as a principal in the province of Ontario
Member of the Ontario College of Teachers
Master of Education (preferably in Educational Administration)
Currently a principal of an elementary or secondary Ontario school
Demonstrated leadership experiences at the District or Central level
Curriculum development and implementation experience
Understanding of current research and best practices within the field of educational leadership and the change process
Attend mandatory in-service sessions planned by the AQ department

NOTE: As part of the terms of employment, instructors of the PQP cannot teach for another PQP provider for two years following their resignation as an OISE employee.
