Fostering Critical Thinking and the Development of Knowledge (Virtual Tour)
Stage of Literacy Development:
Stage 2: Consolidation / Fluency
Stage 3: Literacy for Growth
Primary: Knowledge Building
Each month the school focuses on a character trait for our Character Education. The character trait for this past month was perseverance. The students and I brainstormed together what it means to persevere. And we come up with definitions as well as different times that the students might have persevered in their life, and we post those on our message board. Each month the message board changes depending on what the character trait is.

- Displaying positive character traits in your classroom fosters a caring and safe community for learning. Refer to the character trait throughout the month and catch students displaying the positive behavior.
