Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI)
Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) provides research funding for infrastructure projects. These are institutional funds that require 20% of cash or in kind contribution from profit and nonprofit sectors.
In order to receive the CFI award, OISE has to prepare an application and demonstrate institutional ability to develop and support a new infrastructure project.
OISE Finance department supports CFI projects in all stages of this process by assisting with the following:
-
developing an initial budget
-
submitting online financial forms
-
monitoring acquisitions and budget spending
-
providing ad-hoc and annual financial reports
-
advising on eligible changes and budget variances
- assisting with the final financial report preparation and posting submissions
All purchases for infrastructure projects should be approved by a principle investigator and reviewed by the Finance department. All questions related to the financial management of the CFI projects could be directed to Nelly Leizerovich, OISE Financial Analyst (nleizerovich@oise.utoronto.ca).
More information regarding managing CFI awards can be found under the CFI Policy and Program Guide:
