Dr. Meetu Khosla, Associate Professor in Psychology, Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi, India. Visiting Professor, Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health Program.

Workshop Overview:

The seminar will provide an overview of the various counselling techniques and healing practices as suggested by the Vedantic thought, Ayurveda, Gita, and Yoga. Emphasis will be to elucidate the contribution of Indian thought in understanding psychopathology and treatment of mental disorders. The relevance of medicine, mantras, and various psychological techniques in promoting mental health will be discussed. The importance of Yoga in enhancing the harmony between the mind and the body, health and well-being will be highlighted. A brief outline of the reflections of the ancient Indian thinkers regarding consciousness and self-realizing behaviours will be deliberated upon. Finally the various applications will be delineated.

This workshop is free to all students, mental health professionals, and interested members of the community.
