Adding the CIDE specialization to your degree program mid-degree

OISE students who wish to add the CIDE specialization to their degree must meet the CIDE qualifications, which include having at least one year of work experience in an international setting and conducting research with an international and comparative perspective.

Applications to add the CIDE specialization are reviewed twice a year by a CIDE Faculty Committee and home department chair. It is best to submit a complete application by the beginning of the school year term. Please note that due to increased enrollment in CIDE, there may be restrictions on the number of transfers accepted.

A complete add CIDE application includes:

1. A statement of intent to the Specialization Director(s) of CIDE noting why you wish to enroll in the CIDE specialization. This will be much like the statement of intent you wrote for admission to OISE. In this statement you will need to indicate the CIDE faculty member who will oversee your program completion.

2. A current C.V. that lists your international work experience.

3. The internal add collaborative request form.

4. Return the form to the CIDEC office (7107).
