Sarfaroz Niyozov, Assistant Professor

Sarfaroz Niyozov received his Ph.D. degree from OISE/UT and has returned as a new faculty member in the CTL department this 2005-2006 academic year. He teaches a graduate level course entitled Comparative and Cross-cultural Perspectives.

His doctoral dissertation entitled Understanding Teaching in the Post-soviet Rural and Mountainous Tajikistan received two honors including 2002 Best Dissertation Award by American Education Research Association and 2002 Best Dissertation Award by Comparative International Education Society.

Research Interests:
• teaching, researching, teacher development and education reform in developing, muslim, post-communist contexts; global education; international and comparative curriculum studies/education
