Curriculum Studies & Teacher Development (CSTD)

Second Language Education (SLE)

All sections of the form must be completed and returned to Kara Low (Room 11-105) before September 23, 2009. You will be notified by e-mail, by the end of September confirming office assigned.

Please note that, as CTL student office space is shared accomodation, all computing equipment and peripherals are to be shared equally by student occupants, and the area must be kept tidy and clear of personal belongings. Failure to meet Department expectations may result in loss of space privileges.

Mail Pick-Up, & Telephones

Student mail (i.e. limited correspondence, assignments and evaluations) can be picked up on the 11-floor (opposite CTL reception desk).

There are three telephones available for students to make local calls. One is located in the CTL Information Centre (11-105), a second is located in the CTL Student Lounge (10-104), and the third is located in the MLC Student Lounge (10-north). You can dial directly for an OISE extension number, however, for a number outside OISE, you must dial "9" before you dial the phone number. Pay phones are located throughout the building; house phones (internal use only) have been installed on every floor in the elevator lobby area.

CTL Student Lounge

The student lounge is located in Room 10-280, and is equipped with a small fridge, a microwave oven and a telephone. Kitchen facilities (sink, cupboards, and electrical outlet) are located in 10-299 outside the Modern Language Centre.

Photocopying Facilities

Photocopying facilities are available both inside and outside OISE.

  1. The OISE Library, like all U of T libraries, charges 10 cents per page. Copy cards for multiple copies may be purchased at most UofT libraries.
  2. There are many copy shops surrounding the campus which include FedExKinkos

Audio-Visual/Resource Equipment And Room Bookings

All Audio-Visual and Resource equipment (projectors, tape recorders, etc.) should be ordered from the EdCommons Help desk (923-6641 ext. 4705/2325) on the 3rd floor. A valid OISE library card is required; there is no charge for equipment issued for course work or research purposes.

Parking: Cars and Bicycles

Limited parking facilities are available. Entry to OISE's parking area is on Prince Arthur Avenue. Rates for the various parking options are available from the Parking Attendant at the entrance, or contact the University of Toronto Parking Office at 978-2336 or 978-6625. A limited number of lockers are available; see the Parking Attendant.

Security staff can escort you to your car if requested; this service is provided from 7:00 am to 12:00am, Monday to Friday. Please call 416 978-SAFE (7233) to arrange for patrollers to come to your location during service hours.

Bicycle racks are located in the first parking level (Concourse) of the parking garage adjacent to the Attendant's booth. Bicycles are not permitted in the building.
