Academic History

Wayne is an Associate Professor in Curriculum and conducts his field development activities through his location in the Northwestern Centre in Thunder Bay. He is also the Coordinator of Technology-mediated and Off-campus Programs (Distance Education) for OISE.

Research Overview

His present research interests include examining professional development of school principals and the effects of diminishing resources, the movement towards site based management, technology, and pressure from various sectors of society on how schools are organized and run.

Teaching Overview

Professor Seller has taught the graduate course “Foundations of Curriculum” for many years. Reflecting his interest and activity in field development, he also teaches graduate courses in Change and Implementation and Reflective Professional Development. He is also Head of the Northwestern Centre located in Thunder Bay. Due to his location and interests, his courses are delivered through distance education, using the computer as the medium.

Research Grants and Contracts

Some of his research has been funded by Ottawa Center for Research & Innovation, OISE/UT, and North of Superior R.C.S.S. Board

Honours and Awards

He is a member of the American Educational Research Association and the Association fo Supervision and Curriculum Development.
