Academic History Tony Lam is associate professor of applied measurement and program evaluation at OISE/UT. Research Overview In his research, he studies issues in constructing rating scales for attitude measurement and performance rating, self-reproting, methods of measuring training effects, strategies for evaluating programs with weak experimental designs, outcome evaluation, issues and methods of measuring change, and evaluation and accreditation that are objectives or standards based. Teaching Overview Tony lam teaches graduate level courses in program evaluation, research methods, survey research, performance-based assessments, training evaluation, self-assessment, and instrument development. Research Grants and Contracts His funded research includes such areas as evaluation of bilingual education programs, professional quality assurance programs, accreditation systems, impact of large-scale assessment programs, evaluation of early education programs, internationl testing, methods of measuring change, issues in rating scale construction, and research validity framework. Honours and Awards He is a member of American Evaluation Association, National Council on Measurement in Education and American Educational Research Association, and served as director of the national Evaluation Assistance Center in the U.S. and the Centre for the Advancement of Measurement, Research, Evaluation and Assessment in OISE. |
