CTL Student Association

What is the CTLSA?

The CTLSA is the Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning Student Association. Every position, including the executive ones, is filled with non-paid student volunteers.

What does the CTLSA do?

The CTLSA primarily serves CTL students represented by 3 programs: MT, LLE and CSTD/CIDE. The student association advocates for the student position to the CTL department, and to the OISE community as a whole. The CTLSA also represents CTL interests to the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA), the larger student body governing all of the graduate students at OISE.

There are also representatives required for programs within the CTL department, such as CIDE/CSTD, MT, and LLE. As well, there are numerous positions available for various CTL councils and degree programs that require a student voice, e.g. Ph.D flex-time, MA, M.Ed, Academic Appeal Board, CTL Council, GSA, International Students, OISE Faculty Council, Web Design/Technology, etc.

The CTLSA also runs socials and graduate seminar series every term.

How does the CTLSA work?

The CTLSA has an executive team, comprising of an Internal, three External (MT/LLE/CSTD), one Finance and one Communications Coordinators. The executive team goes to election every academic year in February/March. If you have a special skill and/or talent, and would like to help out with the CTLSA, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What are the benefits of getting involved?

CTLSA membership looks great on your CV; builds leadership skills, and changes your perspective by bringing you to the inside of the mechanism of the institution that we call our academic home, OISE/UT.

Want to get involved?

We are currently looking for more reps from various programs and for volunteers to help us organize our social events, Graduate Student Seminar series, and Wellness Wednesdays program. If you want to get involved and meet your faculty, as well as support your department, do not hesitate to contact us, as we will always have something for you to do.

We invite you to consider the following positions:

  • CSTD PhD Representative
  • CSTD Masters Representative
  • LLE PhD Representative
  • LLE Masters Representative
  • GSA Council Representatives (2)
  • International Student representatives
