 "Doc-Talk" 2008-2009

DOC-TALK is a student-organized drop-in for doctoral students in CTL that gets together to share resources, information, & experiences; and to discuss the processes of being a doctoral student at OISE. The aim is to create social support, connection and community among graduate students, as well as inviting opportunities for scholarly collaboration and success.


 

 

"Doc-Talk" 2007-2008

 

DOC-TALK is a student-organized drop-in for doctoral students in CTL that gets together to share resources, information, & experiences; and to discuss the processes of being a doctoral student at OISE. The aim is to create social support, connection and community among graduate students, as well as inviting opportunities for scholarly collaboration and success. Drop-in, Bi-weekly meetings for 2007-2008 were held on Tuesdays from 12-2 in Room 10-275. This years topics included ‘Choosing Courses’, ‘CV Writing’, and ‘Publishing.' Please see the Doc-Talk conference on First Class by selecting conferences from your desktop, then OISE Students, Departments, CTL Student Info and then select CTL Doc Talk to find information on upcoming meetings over the summer.  


 

MA-TALK 2007-2008

This group shares the same mandate as Doc Talk in that it comes together throughout the year to share information and support each other through the various stages of the masters program at OISE. All CTL students (CSTD & SLE) registered in a masters program are welcome to attend these meetings. Please see the MA-Talk conference on First Class by selecting conferences from your desktop, then OISE Students, Department, CTL Student Info and then select CTL MA Talk to learn more about upcoming events.


 

SLE PhD STUDY FORUM 2007-2008

The SLE PhD Study forum is an opportunity for current SLE PhD students to present their work, discuss topics and areas that are of interest to them, seek advice, guidance and support form their colleagues, and engage in informal conversations about academic interests. The purpose of the forum is to create an opportunity for SLE doctoral students to engage in academic discussions as well as to have additional opportunities to socialize with colleagues outside of class time. Please see posters in the MLC wing on the 10th floor for upcoming sessions.


 

International Students GROUP 2007-2008

The International Students Group at CTL is intended to be a platform to read, to discuss and present work-in-progress. Run by and for international students as well as students with an interest in cultural diversity, helping each other with adjusting to life in Toronto and supporting each other on other pertinent needs of academia. The group meets the last Thursday of every month in the Seminar Room (10-148) at 4:00 pm.
