Graduate Students' Association (GSA)

The GSA is the formal representative of graduate students at OISE. It represents and advocates for graduate student interests at OISE. Coordinating Departmental Student Associations (DSA), as well as promoting links between graduate students and the institute's administration is an important part of their mandate. GSA voices OISE graduate student concerns, such as, funding, academic and equity issues. The GSA is also a formal link to the Graduate Students' Union (GSU). 


OISE Student Services

OISE Student Services also has information on conferences and workshops; financial services, such as bursary applications and graduate assistantships, and support services for students.

The OISE Students Sevices also offers counselling services.

Academic and Cultural Support Centre (ACSC)

Among various other services offered by the OISE Student Services, the Academic and Cultural Support Centre (ACSC) offers a variety of free services such as one-on-one appointments and workshops to all students at OISE, providing assistance with academic writing, resume and cover letters, strategies for success in the teacher preparation and graduate programs, and many others.

The centre offers one-on-one support to OISE/UT students from graduate and initial teacher education (ITEP) programs who are speakers of English as a first or additional language. Please note that all appointments (in person, email, and phone) must now be made ONLINE through our online booking service: https://awc2.wdw.utoronto.ca/awc-login. If you're having difficulty with academic writing, Student Services might be worth a visit. Their Writing Clinic assists with academic writing through one-on-one conferences with students.

September through June: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
July and August: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm       


Grad Room

Located at 66 Harbord Street, the Grad Room is a multi-purpose space for UofT graduate students to interact and exchange ideas with peers across disciplines, and a place where they can improve academic, social and professional skills.

Operating hours: Monday - Friday (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.)  


Commuter Student Centre

This recently opened 2,500 square foot facility offers space for students to relax between classes, as well as offer ample study space, a kitchenette, meeting space, television set and an outdoor patio. The place is fully accessible and has wireless internet service throughout.

It is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm.

Grad Pub

If you're looking for fun in the sun on the patio or a place to get together with friends to forget the workload from school, the GSU Pub is the perfect place to relax and kick back. Cheer on your favorite team while watching the best of World Sports on their big screen T.V. or hit some balls on the pool table. Enjoy sumptuous appetizers amid great ambience & atmosphere. The place gives you plenty of room to roam about and feel at home.

You can even book them for a party!
