Plan (2004-2010)
The mission of the Department
is to play a leading role in the development of education
for the 21st century locally, nationally, and internationally
by:
- generating, applying, integrating,
and transforming knowledge in order to improve the understanding
and practice of curriculum, teaching and learning;
- providing intellectually rigorous
and practically relevant programs for teachers, educational
leaders, and researchers throughout their careers;
- informing and engaging in the
development of justifiable educational policies;
- ensuring that the above scholarly
priorities in research, program innovation, and policy
development occur within a framework of excellence, equity,
and community.

Convergences in Urban Education - Wednesday,
November 25th, 2009, 2:00-4:00pm in room 10-200
The Centre for Urban Schooling (CUS) is excited about another year of interesting
discussion about the critical issues surrounding urban education.
This event is a great way to build a community of urban education
researchers, as well as to allow graduate students to experience leading
a presentation, and answering questions about the research in which they
are involved. These forums will also allow the CUS community to stay in
touch with each other's work in an on-going way. For more information,

The Pastor Phelps Project: A Fundamentalist Cabaret -
Forum on Equity and Social Justice in Education (FESJ) - Dec. 1st, 2009
The Centre for Urban Schooling in co-sponsorship with the
Graduate Centre for Study of Drama invites you to The Pastor
Phelps Project, about the very real fundamentalist pastor
