Academic Computing

The Education Commons provides a range of services supporting appropriate and effective use of technology in research and program delivery for faculty, staff and students at OISE, as well as the broader educational community. Our team specializes in educational program design and delivery, and includes among its members formally trained educators, instructional designers and computer programmers. We offer a range of expertise in support of online learning, integration of technology with program design, research support services, workshops and special events, and application development.

Our Solutions Development Group is one of the largest and most active technology production houses at the University of Toronto, specializing in the development of educational resources and learning systems. The group has the unique ability to collaborate on all aspects of a teaching, learning or research project, from design to implementation, and with an understanding of the educational or instructional context. EC provides customized application development and support for research initatives on a fee-for-service basis for funded projects.

The EC also maintains and supports the use of a number of computing research facilities. These include the Computer Labs, Videoconferencing Room, Knowledge Innovation & Technology Lab and the Media Production Suites.
