Download Messages from OISEnet into another email program
Move your FirstClass messages into Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook Express, etc.
FirstClass/OISEnet will no longer function as an email server as of August 1st 2010. As such, if you wish to move and existing messages from FirstClass to another email account, you can do so by one of the listed processes:
Use an email program installed on your computer like Outlook Express or MacMail.
You can use an email program that can be configured for your OISENet account. You will need an email program like Outlook, Mac Mail or Vista Mail to compete the moving of message out of your OISENet account. Just follow the new account wizard for your email program, and enter the following information.
OISENet server configuration settings:
Server Type: POP3
Username: your OISENet username
Password: your OISENet password
POP Server: fcis.oise.utoronto.ca
SMTP Server: fcis.oise.utoronto.ca
For example, if configuring Outlook your settings should look something like this:
Configure your Gmail account to download your FirstClass messages
This will let you access your email messages currently held in your OISEnet/FirstClass mailbox and move them into your Gmail account.
1) Access your Gmail.com email account
2) Click on "Settings" (near the top right corner), and then "Accounts"
3) Click on "Add a mail account you own"

4) Enter your @OISE email address, Next Step>>
5) Confirm/update the following:
Username: your OISEnet username
Password: your OISEnet password
POP Server: fcis.oise.utoronto.ca
Then click "Add Account"
6) After a few moments, your former messages from FirstClass/OISEnet should now show up in your Gmail account.
Configure your Windows Live Hotmail account to download your FirstClass messages
This will let you access your email messages currently held in your OISEnet/FirstClass mailbox and move them into your Windows Live Hotmail account.
1) Access your Windows Live or Hotmail account
2) Click on the link under your Inbox folders that says "Add an e-mail account"
(You may need to click through the entire menu options: Options -> More Options -> Send and receive mail from other e-mail accounts -> "Add an e-mail account)
3) Click on "Advanced options" and you should see a screen that looks something like this:

Fill in the appropriate information as shown above:
E-mail address: your @oise.utoronto.ca address
POP3 user name: your FirstClass/OISEnet username
Password: your FirstClass/OISEnet password
Incoming mail server: fcis.oise.utoronto.ca
Port: change to 110
UNCHECK This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
UNCHECK Leave a copy of my messages on the server
4) Please be patient, as it may take a while for your messages to transfer from your FirstClass account.
