Save your Address Book Contact Information

Move your personal contacts from FirstClass into Outlook or Entourage

This process will copy all or some of your personal Contacts from FirstClass, which you can then reference in Outlook or Entourage.

The first step is to Export Contacts from FirstClass, and then Import Contacts into Outlook (PC users) or Import Contacts into Entourage (Mac users).

The Export process will not save OISE contacts or mailing lists that you may have created in FirstClass.

You will have to create new mailing lists in Outlook or Entourage.  The easiest way to do this is to have FirstClass and Outlook open at the same time, and then copy & paste the addresses of your list members.

Former OISEnet contacts can be looked up using the UofT Global Address List in the new UTORexchange email system.  It is already set up and available by default for Outlook, Entourage EWS and Outlook Web Access users.

Export Address Book Contacts from FirstClass

Both PC (Windows) and Apple (Mac) users can complete this step.

1) In FirstClass, open your "Contacts".

2a) If you wish to export all of your contacts, choose "File" from the top menu, and then "Export..." and select "For use with Outlook (.csv)".  Click OK.

2b) If you wish to export specific individual contacts, choose the specific contact (or highlight multiple contacts), right-click and choose "Export...".  Make sure only "Selected contacts" is chosen, and then select "For use with Outlook (.csv)".  Click OK.

3) It will ask you to save the file name.

By default, it will choose your first contact name as the file name, although it will save ALL of your contacts in this one file, not just that single contact.  Please rename the file to something like "FirstClassContacts.csv".

Please remember the location that you save the file, as you will need this later.  The Windows default location is: My Documents -> FirstClass -> download.  The Mac default location is Library -> firstclass -> download.

Click on Save.

4) Click Close when complete.
