Departmental Email Accounts Addresses Migration

Email Migration for Administrative and Non-personal accounts (required)

 

 


Email migration has been an on-going process for the past 2 years. 
As of August 1st 2010, some functions of the Email Migration may no longer be available.

Please review the main Migration Headquarters for the most up to date information after the August deadline.


 

 

 

 

 

OISE departments and research groups who currently have FirstClass/OISEnet administrative / non-personal email address (example: admincontact@oise.utoronto.ca) must also transition from the FirstClass server.

Although you won't be using FirstClass anymore for day-to-day activity, any emails addressed to an existing OISE address will be forwarded to the corresponding new UofT email account.

The OISENet email address (@oise.utoronto.ca) will be redirected to the new account indefinitely.


The OISE Education Commons Client Care Portal will create and setup the new UofT account in conjunction with the current @oise address that you have.  The new @utoronto.ca address you request will be associated with the old @oise address by the Education Commons technical team.

This account will remain separate from any personal @utoronto.ca UTORexchange account.

 


 

Administrative /non-personal email address migration process:

  1. Create a letter on OISE letterhead which includes a request for a similar UofT email address (example: oise.department@utoronto.ca) and the name of the person responsible for the new email account. This is required by central UofT. More than one administrative email request can be included in the same letter for efficiency. The letter must be signed by dept. chair or unit head.
  2. Contact the Client Care Portal (email: portal@oise.utoronto.ca)
    • Indicate that you require a "OISE departmental account migration", and provide the @oise email address.
    • Send or deliver the letter to the Education Commons.
    • The Client Care Portal will get back to you with further instructions on how to setup and access a UTORmail account with your @oise address.
