Complete The UTORmail Migration
UTOREXCHANGE
Note: If you would like more detailed instructions or further information, please consult the CNS exchange Migration website: Exchange > Migration instructions
Please follow these required steps in the correct order to complete the migration:
- Close your email client (Outlook, FirstClass, Entourage).
- Go to the UTORmail migration web page.
This link will open a new browser window so you can still access these instructions.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Type your UTORid and password in the appropriate fields and click Authenticate.
- Click the Migrate button. You will be added to the queue waiting to be migrated.
- Do not close your web browser after you have clicked the Migrate button. Doing so will terminate the migration process and may leave you in an incomplete state. Once the migration is complete the page will change to indicate that your email has been migrated.
Yes, the page has indicated my migration was successful.
I get an error message saying there was a problem.
- If you receive an error message, it may be one of two different errors:
a.) an error indicating there is a problem with your account or a "database error". Please wait 24 hours and try the migration again. This normally occurs when there is a technical problem on the exchange server.
b.) an error message indicating you "do not qualify for an exchange account". You need to contact CNS directly (exchange@utoronto.ca) to inquire why you do not qualify for UTORexchange. This normally occurs when there is an HR classification issue for various reasons like being temporary staff, etc.
Inquiries about any errors should be directed to "exchange@utoronto.ca" with your UTORid username or call the ITS helpdesk: 416-978-HELP.
If you receive an error message, please stop and wait for further instructions before proceeding.
- To confirm that your email has been migrated, go to the Outlook Web Access page at: owa.utoronto.ca and login with the following:
User name: UTORid
Password: UTORid password.
Now might be a good time to record or bookmark it.
