Faculty & Staff Email Migration
Follow the steps below to configure your computer for the email migration.
Verify that your version of Mac OS X is ready for the migration
Using "About This Mac" to determine the version of OS X installed on your computer:
Applies to: OS X 10.1 – 10.6
1. Choose About This Mac form the Apple menu. (The Apple menu is the Apple logo located at the top left hand corner of your screen)

Minimum System Requirements for Current Faculty and Staff at OISE:
Mac OS X version 10.4.9 or later is required for Exchange clients.
If you have a lower version on your Apple computer, please contact the CPP to find out how to upgrade your Mac OS. Please included your computer's asset number.

Verify that your version of Entourage is ready for the migration
Entourage 2008 is the only supported email client for Macintosh users at this time.

1) look in Applications for a Microsoft Office 2008 folder:

If you have an older version (Entourage 2004) or do not have the MS Office 2008 suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), please contact the OISE Client Care Portal for an upgrade. Do not configure Entourage 2004 with UTORexchange.

Configure Entourage 2008 to connect to your UTORexchange account

If you are comfortable setting up a new email account by yourself, and do not want to install the ESW update, in Entourage 2008 choose "Configure Account Manually" and use these settings:
Account ID: your UTORid
Domain: utorarbor
Password: your UTORid password
Exchange server: https://owa.utoronto.ca/exchange/firstname.lastname@utoronto.ca

Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition (EWS) Update
Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition is an update to Entourage 2008. If you do not have Entourage 2008, you must install it.
If you have Entourage 2008, make sure you have AutoUpdate turned on, and the latest updates provided by Microsoft AutoUpdate before proceeding.
Download and Install Entourage 2008 EWS
- Go to the Microsoft website and download the Entourage 2008 EWS disk image. Choose to open the file.

- Find the disk image on your desktop and open it.

- Double-click on the installer icon and follow the prompts.
Configure Entourage EWS for Exchange
- Launch Entourage (from Applications / Microsoft Office 2008).
- In the Entourage Setup Assistant, choose Import from a previous version of Entourage and click the right arrow to continue.
- Choose the version you are importing from and click the right arrow.
- Select items to import and click the right arrow.
- Your previous version of Entourage will have all settings and messages stored in a Main Identity. Make sure it is selected and click the right-arrow to continue.
- You will see the following warning. Click OK to continue.
- Entourage will now import your settings and messages. This can take several minutes to complete.
- You will then be prompted to log in to UTORexchange with your UTORid (Account ID) and password. Enter them and click OK.
- Click Finish.
- You will see the following error message. This is because you will need to change your Exchange Server Address in the settings. Close this window.
- Entourage will open (you will not be connected to UTORexchange). Choose Accounts from the Tools menu and double-click your profile name. Go to the Advanced tab, and under Exchange server type https://autodiscover.utoronto.ca/ews/Exchange.asmx. Click OK.
- You will be prompted to log in to your UTORexchange account again. Entourage will again import messages from the Exchange server. It may take some time to import all messages, depending on the size of the mailbox. For large mailboxes (100 MB to 300 MB or more), anywhere up to an hour is possible.
- Finally, go to Tools, Junk E-mail Protection and chose None, if not already selected.
