2- Create an Automatic Reply in FirstClass

Students - let people know your @oise address will no longer be valid

Because OISE students will be using their @utoronto.ca email address, you need to inform anyone still trying to contact you via FirstClass that your @oise address will no longer work after August 2010.

Create Automatic Reply rule in First Class

1. Log into your FirstClass client (using your usual OISEnet account information)

I do not have access to a FirstClass client - I am using the OISEnet Web Access.
If you can only access FirstClass on-line, follow the FirstClass Web Access directions to setup your auto-reply.

I have been able to login to the First Class client on my computer (Continue below)

1. Click on your "Preferences" from the top menu

2. Click on the "Messaging" tab, and look for the  "Automatically reply to:" section

Set "Local mail" to Yes, and "Internet mail" to Yes

In the "Reply text" field, you can enter any information that you wish, but we suggest something like this:

Please note, this account will no longer be active after August 2010.  My email address has changed to "FirstName.LastName@utoronto.ca".

Of course, make sure to include your actual @utoronto.ca email address, and not the sample shown above.

Remember to click the "OK" button.

Yes, I have created my Automatic reply in my FirstClass/OISEnet account.  You are now finished with the necessary components of the Student OISE Migration.  If you wish to move your messages from FirstClass into your @utoronto.ca or personal email account, please proceed to the next step: 3- Move Messages.

Tip: You can continue to log into FirstClass to view and forward any old messages still in your mailbox up until August 2010.
