3- Moving Messages from OISENet

Students Email Migration (optional)

Use an email program | use Gmail | use Windows Live Hotmail

FirstClass/OISEnet will no longer function as an email server as of August 2010 when using the FirstClass client.  As such, if you wish to move and existing messages from FirstClass to another email account, you can do so by one of the listed processes.

Use an email program like Outlook or MacMail.

You can use an email program that can be configured for both your UTORmail (@utoronto.ca) account and your OISENet (@oise.utoronto.ca) account at the same time.  Then you can move messages back and forth between the accounts by drag & drop.

You will need an email program like Outlook, Mac Mail or Vista Mail to compete the moving of message out of your OISENet account into your @utoronto UTORmail account.  You cannot use Outlook Express.  Please follow the instructions listed on the Information Commons site for the email client of your choice:

Windows PC users:
http://help.ic.utoronto.ca/category/45/windows-client-setup.html

Apple/MAC users:
http://help.ic.utoronto.ca/category/46/mac-client-setup.html

Once configured to your UTORmail account, you can add another account using the OISENet configuration information below.  Once both accounts are configured, you can drag & drop messages between the two accounts.

OISENet server configuration settings:

Server Type: POP3
Username: your OISENet username
Password: your OISENet password
POP Server: fcis.oise.utoronto.ca
SMTP Server: fcis.oise.utoronto.ca

2) Click on "Settings" (near the top right corner), and then "Accounts"

3) Click on "Add a mail account you own"

1) Access your Windows Live or Hotmail account

(You may need to click through the entire menu options: Options -> More Options -> Send and receive mail from other e-mail accounts -> "Add an e-mail account)
