Wireless Access 

What is this?

The OISE building is completely wireless via the University of Toronto Campus Wireless Network. The Wireless Network service is operated by I+TS (central IT services) and supported by the Education Commons.

 

Who do we support?

  • University of Toronto faculty, staff & students are eligible to use the wireless network.
  • Visitors from partner institutions may log on to the Eduroam Wireless Network using their existing credentials.

How do I get support?

OISE facilities are part of the University of Toronto Wireless Network. All documentation and help files are available online.

Faculty & staff may contact the Client Care Portal for connection assistance.
Assistance for students is available at the Help Desk in the OISE computer labs.

 

Wired Access

What is this?

All OISE desktop computers are connected to the OISE network and the Internet by an ethernet cable. Every OISE office will have at least one RJ45 connection port for wired access.

 

Who do we support?

Only OISE-managed hardware may be connected to the Internet via a wired connection.

 

How do I request this service?

There is usually no need to request this service. Additional network drops may be added to an office or meeting space by special request. All requests must be channeled through the department's business officer.

 

What is the cost for this service?

There is no cost for the default connection service.
The cost for additional network drops varies. Typical costs are between $400 and $1,000 and are the responsibility of the department.

Off-Campus Access

  • University of Toronto does not provide off-campus Internet access/ISP services
  • Users requiring access to AMS/HRIS/FIS from off campus should contact the Client Care Portal (portal@oise.utoronto.ca) for more information.
