Your email account is automatically created when you activate your UTORid account.
Getting your UTORid setup
New staff will receive a “Getting on-line at UofT” letter from your department. This letter contains your UTORid username and a Secret Activation Key. Current staffs who do not have a UTORid can request the “Getting on-line at UofT” letter from your department or HR.
To activate your UTORid account:
- Browse to the ‘activate’ link on the main UTORid web site.
- Enter your UTORid and Secret Activation Key.
Getting your TCard
Your TCard is a photo ID smartcard which provides identification for university services, facility access and also acts as your Library Card.
To get your TCard, go to the TCard Office located in Room 2054A on the second floor of Robarts Library at the corner of St. George and Harbord. For TCard Office hours and required identification documentation, visit the TCard web site.
Staff should remember to bring their "Getting on-line at U of T” document to the TCard office to receive their TCard.
Important Points to Remember About Your UTORid Account
- UTORid accounts take at least 24 business hours to become active.
- You can check or modify your account settings from the UTORID web site.
Setting up a UTORmail Account
When you are activating your UTORid, you will automatically be asked to set up a UTORmail e-mail address (firstname.lastname@utoronto.ca).
Your Email username and password is the same as your UTORid username and password.
How do I use Outlook (or Entourage) to Access my Email?
It is recommended that OISE Staff upgrade their UTORmail email account to the UTORexchange server. This process takes a few minutes to complete via the UTORexchange migration page.
The UTORexchange account will provide advanced communication features and calendar organization that uses Outlook or Entourage to access. Please consult the Faculty & Staff Email section for more information.
Forgotten UTORid Passwords
For security reasons, staff UTORid passwords can only be reset by visiting the Information Commons Help Desk in Robarts Library. Please remember to bring photo identification.
