Academic Style Guides
Accurately fulfilling your requirements
Are you confused by the details of the style guide you’re using?
Do you need help meeting the requirements?
Do you need to switch from using one style guide to using another?
Whether it’s APA or Chicago, or another style guide, this is the help you need to make sure the multitude of details in your document meet the established conventions.
If you’re accustomed to using one particular style guide & find you have to switch to another (perhaps you’re a long-time user of APA, but are submitting a manuscript that must conform to
Chicago), the help you need is here.
A key focus of this service is to ensure that your references and in-text citations are 100% accurate for any style guide you may be required to use or have chosen
to use.
Formatting
Perfecting your visual presentation
Is your document a mix of different elements?
Do you need to bring consistency to how they appear?
Do you want to improve the visual look of your material?
This service helps you establish and preserve consistency in the presentation of the repeating elements in your document---elements such as margins, alignment, headings, tables, figures.
A clear, consistent, and attractive organization of your material demonstrates that you care about all aspects of your work; not only about what you’ve researched and written, but also about how you are delivering it to your audience, how it looks.
Excellence in your presentations enhances every reader’s ability to understand and appreciate your work. This is especially important in long documents and manuscripts. It is an essential ingredient of thoughtful scholarship that makes a positive and lasting impression.
Editing and Proofreading
Improving your writing
Do you need help with details such as spelling and punctuation?
Can your writing use an objective review?
Are you open to recommendations on how to improve your writing?
It’s often easy to make small mistakes when you’re focused on writing. Proofreading covers grammatical details such as punctuation, spelling, capitalization, use of emphasis, and use of correct verb tense.
Editing takes a deeper look at your writing, reviewing the logical sequence of presenting the building blocks of your material. Objective recommendations are offered to help you refine the clarity and strength of your presentation.
