Title: Career Exploration

Grade: 10

Description: This lesson plan will allow students to use their research skills, to research a career field of their choice.


Expectations: It is expected that students will learn what it takes for the career field of their choice, and the necessary skills that are required.

Student Groupings: Each student will research a career of their choice, students with similar interests can also work together.


Teaching Strategies:

Teacher can provide a list of various careers, and places where the students can research information.
Example: career web sites, university web sites

Assessment: Students are assessed on their ability to incorporate the following components about the career of their choice:
*Job prospects
*Working conditions
*What the career field is about?
*Working conditions
*Salary
*Level of education needed for career field
