Dr. Kari Dehli

Kari Dehli

Why do we need to teach media literacy to media savvy kids?

Kids may be savvy when it comes to using and consuming media, but they don't always know how different media work. Although media literacy is part of the school curriculum, many teachers teach with or through, rather than about, the media. One of the biggest challenges is to get media literacy into programs for initial teacher education.

Dr. Kari Dehli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Equity Studies in Education, OISE/UT.
