  • THE GOVERNOR GENERAL AND THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR VISIT ICS

On Friday, December 3rd we were honoured that the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston and his wife Sharon, chose the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study Integrated Kindergarten Program (IKP) at the Bloorview School at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital to visit and mark the International Day of Persons With Disabilities. As you know, this program is a proud part of the Jackman ICS reach and for fifteen years it has modeled inclusion of children with and without physical challenges in one enriched and outstanding Junior and Senior Kindergarten program. Ontario's Lieutenant Governor, David Onley and his wife accompanied the Governor General. Having Their Excellencies and Their Honours visit after our once in a lifetime day of happy announcements on Thursday was truly remarkable. Laboratory School Vice-Principal Richard Messina was at Holland Bloorview that morning to celebrate the special visit.
