Visitor Information

Please note: The Lab School is currently under renovation and we have only very limited opportunities available to host visitors for tours during the 2016-17 school year. Our visitor program will resume when the renovations are complete in September 2017. For further questions about our visitor program, please contact the Vice Principal Chriss Bogert, chriss.bogert@utoronto.ca

The Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study Laboratory School serves as a setting for observing theoretical and research-based ideas in practice.

We welcome visits to the Laboratory School by educators and researchers from schools around the world. Please contact the Vice Principal to begin to plan a professional visit to the school. For more information on professional visits, please visit our Professional Visits section.

The following general procedures have been developed to facilitate visits during the day and we appreciate your cooperation.

Policies for Visitors

  • All visits must be pre-arranged with the Lab School Teacher Associate by submitting the Tour Request Form. Once completed, please e-mail your request to our Communications Associate, Holly Huizenga: holly.huizenga@utoronto.ca
  • Visitors to Jackman ICS identify themselves to reception upon arrival.
  • Photography of the school environment is permitted.
  • No Photography of children or posted images of children is permitted.

Parents who have an interest in the Laboratory School are invited to contact Nancy Boudreau in the school office regarding admissions. Families on our waiting list do not tour the school until such time that a space is in view. The focus of the school day is on children's learning. Interested parents, please visit our Prospective Parents section.
