Visitor Information

The Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study Laboratory School serves as a setting for observing theoretical and research-based ideas in practice.

Parents who have an interest in the Laboratory School are invited to contact Nancy Boudreau in the school office regarding admissions. Families on our waiting list do not tour the school until such time that a space is in view. The focus of the school day is on children's learning. Interested parents, please visit our Prospective Parents section.

We welcome visits to the Laboratory School by educators and researchers from schools around the world. Please contact the Vice Principal to begin to plan a professional visit to the school. For more information on professional visits, please visit our Professional Visits section.

The following general procedures have been developed to facilitate visits during the day and we appreciate your cooperation.

Policies for Visitors

  • All visits must be pre-arranged with the Lab School Vice Principal by submitting the Tour Request Form. Please click here to download a copy of the form. Once completed, please e-mail your request to Richard Messina at richard.messina@utoronto.ca
  • Visitors to Jackman ICS identify themselves to reception upon arrival.
  • Arrangements for photographing children or classrooms must be made through the Vice-Principal, Richard Messina, in advance of your arrival.
