Secondary Cohorts 2013-2014

Essential information for incoming teacher candidates

Welcome! We are pleased that you have chosen to take your teacher education program at our faculty, and look forward to working with you as an active member of the OISE community.

What is a Secondary Program (SP) Cohort?

  • Teacher candidates in the Secondary Program take all three of their Foundations courses (Teacher Education Seminar (TES), Psychological Foundations of Education, and School and Society) with the same group.  This group is their 'cohort'.
  • Each SP cohort has a coordinator, and works with partner schools and/or school departments.

Which Cohort will you be in?

Teacher candidates will identify three SP preferences in Section 2 of the Candidate Information page*. Please note that SP Cohorts are limited by class size.  Every attempt will be made to give you one of your choices.  (Please be aware that this might not be possible in some cases due to certain timetable conflicts or where cohort capacity has been reached, which may necessitate changes to your selection).
