Communications Technology

Communications Technology includes the study of live, recorded and graphic communications.

Potential teachers in this BBT would be expected to have formal qualifications, proof of comptence, and skilled wage-earning experience in one or more of the following:

  • Graphic Arts Designer
  • Radio and Television Technologist

 

Computer Technology

Computer Technology includes the study of digital computer interfacing, analog and digital electronics, control systems and computer engineering.

Potential teachers in this BBT would be expected to have formal technical education, proof of compentence, and skills wage-earning experience in one of more of the following:

  • Electronics Engineering Technologist
  • Computer Engineering Technologist

 

Construction Technology

Construction Technology includes the study of residential, commercial, industrial, and other built environments, including the systems required to maintain and service them.

Potential teachers in this BBT would be expected to have formal qualifications, proof of competence, and skilled wage-earning experience in one or more of the following:

  • Cabinetmaker
  • General Carpenter
  • Electrician Construction and Maintenance

 

Green Industries

Green Industries includes the study of design, construction, installation, and maintenance of landscapes and sustainable environments.

Potential teahers in this BBT teaching subject must have formal technical education, proof of competence, and skilled wage-earning experience in one or more of the following:

  • Horticultural/Agricultural Technologist
  • Landscape Technologist/Designer

 

Hairstyling and Aesthetics

Hairstyling and Aesthetics includes the study of hairstyling, aesthetics, and other beauty services.

Potential teachers in this BBT teaching subject must have formal technical education, proof of compentence, and skilled wage-earning experience in the following:

  • Hairstylist

 

Health Care

Health care includes the study of health and personal care.

Potential teachers in this BBT teaching subject must have formal technical education, proof of compentence, and skilled wage-earning experience in the following:

  • Registered Nurse

 

Hospitality and Tourism

Hospitality and Tourism includes the study of travel and accommodation, food preparation, and other hospitality issues.

Potential teachers in this BBT would be expected to have formal qualifications, proof of competence, and skilled wage-earning experience in one or more of the following:

  • Baker-Patissier
  • Cook (Br 2)

 

Manufacturing Technology

Manufacturing Technology includes the study of product design, process and production planning, manufacturing processes, and quality control.

Potential teachers in this BBT would be expected to have formal qualifications, proof of competence, and skilled wage-earning experience in one or more of the following:

  • General Machinist
  • Tool and Die Maker

 

Technological Design

Technological Design includes the in-depth study of a variety of design processes that may be used in solving technological challenges in the fields of architecture, communications technology, construction, manufacturing, electronics, and transportation. It also includes the development of industrial and commercial products and services, and health, safety and environmental systems.

Potential teachers in this BBT would be expected to have formal qualifications, proof of comptenence, and skilled wage-earning experience in one or more of the following:

  • Architectural Technologist/Designer
  • Construction Engineering Technologist
  • Industrial Electrician
  • Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technologist/Designer
  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist/Designer
  • Fashion Designer / Interior Designer / Industrial Designer
  • Robotics Technologist

 

Transportation Technology

Transportation Technology includes the study of transportation from the point of view of personal transportation, mass transit systems, and the transportation of freight and other objects.

Potential teachers in this BBT would be expected to have formal qualifications, proof of competence, and skilled wage-earning experience in one or more of the following:

  • Automotive Service Technician
  • Truck and Coach Technician
  • Automotive Body and Collision Damage Repairer
