- Masters Degree Programs (M.Ed. & M.A.)

The M.Ed. & Ed.D. programs are designed to prepare practitioners for leadership careers. They concentrate on elements of theory and research that are of direct assistance in understanding & resolving problems & issues confronting practicing administrators.
The M.A. & Ph.D. programs are intended particularly for those who are interested in educational administration as an academic field of study. Students are typically interested in the ideas behind this applied field of study and their research involves the application of ideas to practice.
The M.A. program appeals to those with an excellent academic background who want to continue to the Ph.D. program. The Ph.D. program is suited to those considering a future in the university or research.
Students in these programs may also apply for an Interdepartmental Graduate Specialization in Gender Equity in Education, Health Professional Education, or Women's Studies/Feminist Studies.
Principal Qualification Program at OISE
Effective January 2011, OISE M.Ed. students who have successfully completed their PQP programs from OISE may use these as electives TPS 1060 and/or TPS 1061.
• Students wishing to pursue this optional route to fulfill one of the program requirements will be required to obtain the approval of Dr. Joseph Flessa, Program Coordinator for Educational Administration.
• Admission into the Principal Qualification Program is separate from the graduate program and is contingent upon the approval of to the Director, Continuing Education unit.
