OISE/UT Graduate Students' Association (GSA)

All OISE/UT students belong to the Graduate Students' Association (GSA) which sponsors special student activities and services and represents students’ interests on committees within the Institute. The GSA executive consists of a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. The GSA council meets once a month and has representation from each of the programs at OISE/UT. Elections for the executive are held once a year and each department at OISE/UT is responsible for selecting their representatives on the council. If you want to get involved contact your LHAE GSA reps or the GSA Office.

CUPE Local 3907

All students holding graduate assistantships at OISE/UT are represented by Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 3907. The Local assists members with problems relating to their employment at OISE/UT by ensuring that the GA ranking process is fair, mediating any conflicts that arise with the employer, supporting member interests and educating members about their rights and responsibilities. CUPE notice boards are located on each floor throughout OISE/UT. As the Union is only as strong as their members are active, please consider getting involved in your union!

International Students’ Association

The International Students' Association (ISA) at OISE/UT arranges "buddies" for incoming students from abroad, holds an orientation meeting and monthly luncheon meetings for academic exchange, and looks into the specific needs of existing and potential international students. Also, the ISA organizes a series of cultural exchange activities on a regular basis, e.g., celebrations of St. Patrick's day, Chinese New Year, and Now-Rooz, etc. The ISA is represented on the GSA Council, and some other committees on behalf the international students.
