Our Review Process: Following closing dates all applications are reviewed by the Registrar's Office.  The Faculty in the Master of Teaching Program review all applications and rank them in January and February.  Applicants we select for interviews will be advised of either a phone or in person interview once we have processed all of the applications. The Master of Teaching program is one of the premier teacher education programs at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. This program combines a Master of Teaching degree with elementary or secondary teacher certification. Our program is suited for those who want to pursue a career in teaching combined with graduate study that may lead to a doctoral program.   Students will choose one of three program specializations: Primary/Junior, Junior/Intermediate or Intermediate/Senior.
Why take a two year program? Additional time to:
  • study a range of educational issues
  • develop as a teacher
  • acquire teaching strategies
  • deepen knowledge of curriculum
  • work in classrooms
  • conduct research
  • and qualify for doctoral studies

Be part of a professional community while you study to be a teacher and obtain a master’s level degree.
