Hilary Inwood
Lecturer
Hilary Inwood teaches courses in art education and environmental education in the MT Program and the Initial Teacher Education program at OISE. She holds degrees in education (M.Ed, University of Toronto), art history (MA, York University) and art education (Ph.D, Concordia University). Over the past decade her research has focused on integrating art education with environmental education to develop learners’ environmental literacy in school and community settings. Her work as an educator, researcher and artist extends beyond the classroom to include school gardens, outdoor education centres, parks and galleries. She taught in elementary classrooms for twelve years, has worked as an educational consultant for over twenty years, has taught AQ courses for teachers and facilitated many teacher PD institutes for the Toronto District School Board. She currently leads OISE’s Environmental and Sustainability Education Initiative. Her writings, research and artworks can be accessed at www.hilaryinwood.ca.
