A Graduate Assistantship allows a student to work with a professor of his/her research. All MT students (current and forthcoming students) are eligible to apply for a GA. All MT students can hold a GA for one year and must re-apply for the second year. Graduate assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis and based on the amount of research-based and work experience that is required for each department. For the criteria and the application, please visit the Student Services on the 5th floor of the OISE/UT Building for more information
Please note that current and forthcoming students who apply for an academic year-long assistantship (September - April) must submit their application on December 1st of each year.
Students wishing to apply for a summer GA must check Student Services for deadline dates and the application.

Research and Development Graduate Assistants (R&D GA)
These positions are similar to a GA. Instead of submitting an application form, students must submit a letter and a brief curriculum vitae. Please note that eligibility criteria are different for each position. Postings can be found in May, September and/or September around departments.
