Academic Planning

Academic planning and your role

Under the leadership of Dean Glen Jones, OISE is currently engaged in a period of academic planning. As he noted, “we must seize the opportunity to reflect on our current environment to chart an exciting and relevant future that moves us further towards our goal of excellence in graduate studies and research in education and human development.”

The process of how we arrive at an academic plan is as important as the plan itself. We hope to set in motion a planning process that is informed, transparent and innovative, and that fosters the creative and meaningful participation of our entire community – faculty, staff, students, alumni, external partners and friends.

We need your help: ways to participate

There are multiple ways you can participate and share ideas — from events and webinars to surveys and polls.

Get the ball rolling by reviewing OISE's New Reality: Trends and Analyses to better understand the context in which we are operating. As well, use the OISE's Future Reality: Discussion Guide to assist you in generating informed gems for consideration. Also, review the OISE Truth and Reconciliation Commission Task Force Report and the OISE Equity and Diversity Policy

If have questions or suggestions, please email oise.planning@utoronto.ca or consider completing a more detailed submission to Your Ideas and Input.
