Equity

 

Mandate

The Equity Committee is responsible for identifying, developing and advocating on issues of equity, diversity, and accessibility and for developing strategies as they pertain to programs, policies and procedures.

Membership

The Committee membership consists of a Chair elected from among the members, four faculty (including at least one lecturer), one instructor, two graduate students (one being a GSA appointee), two Initial Teacher Education students (one being a Student Teachers' Union appointee), four staff (including at least one from the Shool-University Partnership Office), one OISE representative from each union and employee association (or as otherwise recommended in the Collective Agreement). The Dean (or designate) and one Equity Officer, defined as a member (for a one- or two-year term) who can be either: an administrator, faculty or staff whose job responsibilities include a significant equity role.

Meetings

The Committee normally meets four times a year, or at the call of the Chair. The scheduled meetings for the 2010-2011 academic year are: September 20, November 8, January 17 and March 7.

Records

The records of the Equity Committee meetings are maintained by the Committee and are archived with the Faculty Council Secretary. Meeting records are publicly available.
