Research
Mandate
The Research Standing Committee establishes policies, makes recommendations and provides advice concerning sponsored research, research related development and outreach activities, and infrastructures related to both research and outreach.
Membership
Committee membership consists of a Chair elected from among the members, eight faculty (including but not limited to CRCs and Centre Heads of funded and non-funded centres), two department staff involved in research administration, one professional research staff, three graduate students, two Initial Teacher Education students (one undergraduate, one graduate), one Initial Teacher Education instructor. The Dean (or designate), the Director of Continuing Education, one Equity Officer defined as a member (for a one- or two-year term) who is either an administrator, faculty or staff, and the Research Manager are all ex-officio members.

Meetings
The Committee normally meets four times a year, or at the call of the Chair. The scheduled meetings for the 2010-2011 academic year are: September 16, November 11, January 20 and March 10.
Records
The records of the Research Committee meetings are maintained by the Committee and are archived with the Faculty Council Secretary. Meeting records are publicly available.
