OISE's Transition to a Four-Department Structure

FAQ Home | General | Students | Faculty & Staff | Research | Alumni | Donors

How will the new departmental structure benefit research at OISE?

The four-department structure was chosen in part because it is expected to promote and support excellence in research; build on existing strengths while nurturing new and emerging areas of research; and foster innovation, inter-disciplinarity and internationalization. In particular, the reconfiguration of departments and constituent programs should provide a climate more conducive to the formation of synergistic research teams with complementary expertise, positioned to compete successfully in an institutional climate favoring large-scale, interdisciplinary research initiatives.

Who can I contact for more information?

Questions pertaining to individual departments or programs should be directed to the relevant Department Chair or Program Coordinator. For all other matters regarding the transition process, please email dean.oise@utoronto.ca.
