FEATURED ISSUE:
    Equity and Assessment

FEATURED RESEARCHER:
     Eunice Jang

QUESTION: How do assessment practices affect student growth?

Eunice Jang cares about issues of equity and assessment in education. She examines assessment as a powerful tool to understand how well the educational system supports and/or marginalizes some students. She looks at how assessment affects student's social emotional development as well as academic and cognitive growths. Eunice is keen on the needs and interests of various educational participants. She believes that current educational assessment practice needs to shift ifs focus on facilitating teachers' instructional design and guiding students' learning. Another important goal that Eunice recognizes in her work is to prepare graduate students to be competent educational researchers by providing productive intellectual inquiry space where they challenge their own prejudices and prior experiences and as a result broaden their understanding of assessment and inquiry approaches.
