Who are you running for? Six days until Team OISE Runs for the Cure October 3

In 2008, several OISE staff, faculty and students entered a team in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run/Walk for the Cure. Twenty OISE-ites banded together to support a colleague with breast cancer, and had a terrific morning, raising money, spirits and hopes. Along the way, they were thrilled to encounter many other OISE and U of T compatriots who were running/walking to honour and support family, friends and colleagues with breast cancer. Their hope is to do it again this year.
On Sunday, October 3, Team OISE participants will join with U of T colleagues to compete in the University Challenge for the title of top fundraising university in Ontario. Currently U of T tops the list: for number of participants, at 206; number of teams, at 14; total donations, at $21844, and number of donations, at 494.
The team is eager to increase its numbers and make a strong showing in the celebrations in this national movement that connects participants and volunteers in over 60 communities across Canada to support the vision of creating a future without breast cancer
"Everyone who would like to participate this year is invited to join Team OISE. Runners and walkers are welcome, and please invite others – we want to be as inclusive and as OISE–wide as possible!" says Team OISE captain Kathy Broad.

- At the website, choose to REGISTER
- On the next page that appears select “TORONTO” as the location
- On the next page, select JOIN A TEAM
- Enter Team OISE in the box and you will be able to JOIN TEAM on the following page.
Since 1992, the annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, CIBC Run for the Cure, remains the largest, single-day, volunteer-led national event in support of breast cancer. In 2009, close to 170,000 participants raised over $26.5 million to fund research, education and awareness programs.
