Four OISE faculty members promoted to full professor

Dean Julia O'Sullivan announced yesterday that four OISE faculty members have been promoted to the rank of full professor. Each has established an international reputation in his or her respective field, is deeply engaged in scholarly work and has a record of effective teaching and service to the community.

The OISE community joins in congratulating these four outstanding colleagues on their well-deserved achievement.

Charles Chen, Canada Research Chair in Life Career Development, is Professor of Counselling Psychology in the Department of Adult Education and Counselling Psychology at OISE. Holder of a PhD from the University of British Columbia, Professor Chen joined OISE in 2001.

Clare Kosnik, a Professor in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, joined OISE in 1997 with a PhD from the University of Toronto. Her research interests include teacher education, action research and teacher inquiry and literacy education.

Kari Dehli, a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Equity Studies in Education, completed her MA and PhD at the University of Toronto, and has been an OISE faculty member since 1990. She recently held the position of department Chair. 

Peter Trifonas (PhD, University of British Columbia) joined OISE in 1998. A professor in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Peter teaches curriculum theory, philosophy, ethics, cultural studies, and media literacy. His areas of interest and scholarly accomplishments extend to ethics, philosophy of education, literacy, media, technology, and curriculum.
