Creating a Lasting Legacy

Recipient of the William Pakenham Fellowship

Gail Prasad Gail Prasad was able to complete her MA at OISE due, in part, to the support she received through the William Pakenham Fellowship.

"...what stands out for me with respect to the funding I have received is the support and validation of my work and contribution to the communities of which I am a part, as well as, the networks that form as a result of being a recipient."

Her research focused on the discursive development of the ecology of languages paradigm and its implications for language planning and policy in an age of globalization. In the Canadian context, she looked at how teachers' additive and subtractive attitudes to language instruction affect multilingual learners' literacy development.
