Great turnout at the St. John's Alumni & Friends Event!

Over 70 OISE and UofT alumni and friends joined Dean Julia O'Sullivan on March 14, 2013 at the Rooms Cafe! The event offered alumni an opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and colleagues, and to meet other alumni and friends living in the St. John's area.

Stay tuned for pictures!

Re-Connecting at the Annual Spring Reunion

Janette PelletierOISE’s contribution to U of T’s annual Spring Reunion event was a widely anticipated hot brunch on June 2, 2012, hosted by the OISE Alumni Association.

This annual gathering drew alumni from several decades and across the province.   Over 70 participants were welcomed, with a special recognition for those celebrating graduating years that end in a "2" or a "7". Several more were honoured for their 25th anniversary.

The reunion began with a warm address from Dean Julia O’Sullivan and was followed by the event’s culminating highlight - a talk entitled, Full-day Learning / Kindergarten: The Impact on Staff, Parents and Children by OISE’s distinguished alumnus and Director of the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study, Professor Janette Pelletier (BEd 1986, MEd 1989, PhD  1994). Professor Pelletier gave us a personal and inspiring assessment of recent changes to full-day early learning and of her ongoing research.

The Spring Reunion brunch was a great opportunity to re-connect with peers, and was memorably enhanced this year by student Harpist, Elizabeth Bawel and catering provided by students at Danforth Technical Institute.
